Jabez won 3rd place for Char Yong Top 10 Cup

Jabez joined the Char Yong Cup National Top 10 Table Tennis Tournament 2012. This competition, the players can only join by invitation. Jabez (10 years old) joined the Boys under 12 category and won 3rd place.

Yes!!! Jabez from ACS(J) into the Finals!!!

Jabez got into the finals for the Boys Under 12 competition. He won Bevan Tan (P6 from Red Swastika School) in the Quarterfinals and Chan Zery (P6 from Ai Tong School) in the Semifinals. He will be playing with Chia Shing Kee (P6 from Maris Stella High School) in the Finals.

At last, we've finished the tournament for the Senior Team. Will do a similar tournament after the holidays for the Junior Team.

In the case of a tie in the number of points, for example Shauun and Jedd, the winner between them will have a higher placing.

Senior Team Round Robin Tournament Result

Updated results:

As Jedd (went home to look after his brother) left early and Ryan (studying for CA) did not come, we were not able to complete the Tournament.

David played seriously for this Tournament and he won ALL his matches. Few of his matches were very close but he held on to the crucial points and won them ALL by small margins.

School Training 14th Aug 2012

The Senior Team had a Round Robin Tournament yesterday.
As it was meant to be a trial for the players to get use to the format, they played only best of 3 games.
In the end, we did not have enough time to complete all the matches. Will have to carry on next week.

Everyone played seriously during their matches and some games were really close.

For the Junior Team we will most likely start a similar tournament after the holiday.

New players!

The table tennis team started their training yesterday.

A total of 18 players were chosen but only 16 turned up.

Discovered at least 3 talents in the team. And they had private training outside school.

Think we need to recruit more Primary 3s & 5s for the next year.

The private training was really fruitful. They trained in a group of 4 with 1 coach for 2 hours.
Each of them played a few rounds of multi-balls and competition among themselves.

There're a few more boys who are interested in having private training on Monday.
Will need to arrange to see if it's possible.

Today is the first official training for next year's school team. Heard that 9 Seniors and 9 Juniors were chosen for a start.
